AKA v2.1 :B
The ears were a key reason I needed to update the ref, what with the bat-like ears now being on the hedgehog. But also, obviously, a tweak to the colours, pulling some of that bright saturation Simon had out of it (or I guess you could say “Simon’s mortal colours are fading after almost three years of being a walking corpse”)
Though this was in part from talking to another vampire about things and kind of getting their input on things because really everyone will set out their own path on these things but external input is useful. However it’s also from IRL I’m kind of going greyer, even if I’m not happy about that, so figured I’d update Simon’s ref too.
It also meant I could fix up the colours on the old reference. The 2024 one didn’t have the pawpad colours on the colour pickers, and also the shoe sole colour was completely wrong.
That’s the claw colour!
I also adjusted a couple of the annotations too, mostly for clarity, but not much as the rest of the sheet I felt was pretty correct.
Thankfully as this was just an update to the existing sheet and not a COMPLETELY new thing it didn’t take too long to sort out. Tbh most the time was figuring the colours, drawing in the new ears for the hedgehog and watching my PC scream as the ref file happily takes up 17GB of RAM when I had the final reference image (with the text etc.) open (I promise next ref sheet I do I won’t be that dumb and have a 18,788 x 14,350 canvas that I’m just going to shrink down to 15% >_>;;;)
Fun Fact: I was tempted to let Simon now summon wings in its hedgehog form and to be fair I might still do that but I didn’t wanna make the ref even busier lol. But it DOES look cool
This was just an accident from leaving the bar form on behind the hedgehog when I was doing layer stuff lol
