2010-2019 – A Decade of Art

So here we are, the tensies are gone and now we’re in the 21st twenties. I’ll be honest and just be blunt that yeah, looking at a decade in review I’ve obviously improved but how much genuinely surprises me. It doesn’t feel like my artistic ability was as it was in 2010, whether that’s a commentary on how time moves as an adult or just generally how fast most the decade feels to have moved.

Most my thoughts are already on the image under the cut and I won’t be linking to the images either, mostly because I’m not sure I can actually find where some of these images are even posted. Sure I have all my art saved and backed up, but that means nothing for online sites 😛

2018 summary of art

2018 Summary of Art

It’s that time of year, I don’t think I’m going to get much personal work done over the next week what with being away for 4 days at Christmas and then the whole new year thing in general. Traditionally I posted these on Tumblr, but traditionally I didn’t have a website and Tumblr is shooting itself so hard in the foot it’s having it’s legs amputated! So here are my choice pics of the year that I’ve done per month!

A chunk of this years art is commissioned and while most picks this year are personal work, sometimes I felt my commissioned work was the best I did that month. That said, I feel awkward picking one over the other as I don’t want to give the impression I tier my art as I give every commission my all.

It’s been an interesting year artistically. 2018 is the first time since 2013 I’ve taken commissions, I’ve also tried new things in my personal works. Here’s hoping to 2019 being equally interesting.
