This started out as random DO floating, then kinda just built from there, a tank, TF-y things, etc.

Eventually a BG was added because I had the title of this post stuck in my head and honestly, the amount of times I willingly do a background a year can be counted on one hand, two if I’m feeling more motivated than usual.

As a result I tried to do some more things than usual on it with the shading and lighting. Also some transparency on DO for a change. Not sure I like how I did either honestly but you don’t learn things from not trying them!

Rose-Killing Carmilla

Scarlet sky is falling down
Bury me six feet under…

Personal piece based on the lyrics of Rose-Killing Carmilla (薔薇殺しのカーミラ) from Koumajou Densetsu II: Stranger’s Requiem

It’s not anything specific or aiming to push my limits. Just sudden inspiration.

Also, you may notice the gravestone says Mircalla, which is an anagram of Carmilla, one of the many names of the titular vampiress of the book Carmilla. I had originally thought Carmilla was a flower, but no that’s the Camellia. But this is why we do research :3c

I chose a night scene for the sky behind the scarlet sky, because when this theme plays, it’s actually at night to a scarlet backdrop while fighting Yougen Remilia.

Happy Pride Month 2019 y’all. Remember that all queer folx are to be supported, even if they lack romantic and/or sexual attraction to others or don’t match society’s “intended” binaries and relationship norms. We’re all deserving of equal rights, regardless of what some may say.
