DarkOverord is a digitigrade red anthropomorphic dragon standing at 265cm (8’8″) tall, with large wings and a large tail. Larger dark grey/black scales run down from just under its chin, along its neck and underbelly to the tip of its tail, as well as some scales of the same colour running along the inners of its thighs. It has a large purple gem embedded in the middle of these scales just below the larger pectoral scales.

Its wings are separated in to three digits with cream coloured claws on the end and a “thumb” with significantly larger claw, while black membranous webbing runs betweens the three digits and its back. A similar webbing can be seen on the sides of its head that connect to it’s jaw

Pale rusty-pink scutes run along its snout from between the eyes to the snout tip, down the sides of its neck to along and just past its shoulders, from its elbow to the back of its hand, from the middle of its back to along the upper portion of its tail, and from its knees to the top of its feet.

Large cream claws extend out the toes of its feet with a smaller slightly dextrous dewclaw along the inner side of each foot, while the claws on its hands are smaller but share the same colour.

Atop its head is a mess of orange fur that runs down to just above the middle of its back like a mane, as well as two zigzagging cream horns. Its eyes are blue with vertical reptilian slits for pupils.

Further Information

Typically DarkOverord often comes off as grumpy, partly from how it prefers not to beat around the bush and prefers to be more direct, though this isn’t to say DO won’t flower up words, but generally even in those instances, it is still wanting to be direct.

In reality DO itself isn’t actually that grumpy or sour, but it is happy to let others believe that if it lets them be left to their own devices. As a dragon though, DarkOverord doesn’t like to admit it but it is guilty of some traits a lot of dragons get portrayed as having, prideful, avarice and can be quick to anger (this doesn’t help that whole “grumpy” description”).

Unsurprisingly as a being of draconic ancestry, DarkOverord does have the ability to breathe fire as well as having more strength than its body muscular would portray, not to say it is particularly lithe but it’s not particularly bulky in musculature either. Surprisingly however instead is DarkOverord’s space based powers (that are better detailed in the bestiary entry) that enable it to have varying space (and time, technically) based abilities, though it mostly just uses them to warp around.

As for the sword? Well it’s actually meant to be a two-handed blade but the dragon is big and strong enough to wield it with one hand, though DarkOverord’s not actually that skilled of a sword-fighter, it’s honestly more of a magic focus than an actual weapon.

Character History

While DarkOverord isn’t the oldest character (that’s Simon, with Richard, JOS, and Malrak following not far behind them) it is perhaps the most consistent and has effectively been the most refined since 2005 (when DO was first designed!).

Originally DO was very much a dragon that got shoved in to my Sonic OC stories (So alongside the aforementioned older characters) with teenage “oh I love Doctor Who he’s a timelord :)” as an excuse to just kind of let me use him with a Scifi twist but also let me just shove DO in to the story backgrounds until he did a full on The Doctor in resolving one of the arcs with Simon. Over time that faded, though it kind of transferred in to being “space” powers as I got more in to Touhou and started switching various things over to a modern day magic setting that is “Neo Draconis” with Feoh and JOS as the primary portagonists, with DarkOverord being a powerful dragon that generally still just machinated in the background…

…Like Yukari. Because Yukari is in my top three Touhou characters. This though is most obvious with the fact I do sometimes draw DO moving through rifts like Yukari would go through her gaps.

Around late August 2023 development: I slipped and referred to it in the same was as I do for the other DarkOverords (toy/robot/goo) and I Got the Gender Feels, so guess who else is now too?

NSFW Okay?

Needs to be okay’d by me first, and I don’t just mean as a polite ask, I mean I’d like to know exactly what first.

While DO isn’t what I use most the time to represent “me” these days, they do still have that significant connection to me so I’m very tentative on that.
