The grey version was an accident, I changed a folder property and liked how it looked honestly!

Hi my brain got taken over by YT recommending ANTIVILLAIN by ivycomb & Stephanafro and kind of was perfect for the “2023 vs 2024” energy thing I was doing. Granted I have something specific I wanna do for that but OOPS

What would Simon think of their future self? What would the vampire think of its past self? I think this would be pretty accurate if somehow that interaction came to pass

So given some changes that happened after I got bitten by a vampire just before new years and the fact that it caused Identity™ to happen to me, I broke that promise I made to myself at the end of 2023 to not do any references in 2024. OOPS. Granted this one didn’t take as long as DarkOverord’s reference, just two months between poking commissions and other things, though I’d have gotten it sooner if I didn’t go “mmm bat too :)”

So there we have it, it’s now Super Official that I’m a very sharp fangy creature! As if the fact that I hadn’t dropped this after almost four months didn’t make that incredibly obvious…

A red vampire hedgehog looking a little scared and concerned at its hand now wing as it shifts in to a bat form. It says out loud "Wait, what the...? No no no no no no no no no no (cut off the screen edge) It's stood in a wood panelled room with a little table connected to the wall. The window is open and you can see outside and the moon is currently large in the sky behind the silhouettes of other houses. In the lower left is a doodle version of the hedgehog now in bat form saying "Note to self: Do not think of flying when not concentrating. This is fine, advantageous! Just... Not right now."

First Bat Shift

So you’ve been turned by a vampire, you’ve got sick new fangs, cool eyes that you can use to put prey to sleep, you’re struggling with being very thirsty but it’s growing on you now, and started seeing others as food and/or heat sources now you don’t make it any more on the account of the whole *gestures* not living thing, your body keeps acting on instinct but it’s been mostly fine ‘cus it’s been to feed. Cool!
Then you idly thought about flying without thinking about it and oops turns out the myth about bat forms is true! You’ll work it out!

 Oops the vamp train has well and truly left the station now so I guess we have a bloodthirsty hedgehog now.

There was shenanigans on social media and they didn’t leave my brain so here’s the end result of that. I’m mostly posting this now ‘cus it was very sudden for me to do this at 2AM this morning so this is technically the first art of 2024 :’D

I want to thank you so much for all your support this year and I hope we all collectively kick 2023’s butt to endure it isn’t 2022 again.

Also this is the first pic with the 23 mark! I only started putting a year on my art midway this year so that’s nice of me 18 years later to keep track of years :B
