So I played through Sonic Forces and while overall I found it to be an “Eh” game, I can’t deny I didn’t enjoy the avatar/OC/Character/WhateverYouWantToCallIt creator fun.

I played through as the closest I could get to Simon and in the end ended up with this outfit:

So I decided to actually draw Simon in that outfit :3c I’ve got alternate vers on patreon because some of the bodysuits are interesting (Like an all gold one, and one that is very goopy green looking). It’s been a pretty big project for me haha.

The Records of the Order; Synopsis of the Rift

With tumblr becoming a site that’s becoming massively abandoned, I’m going to shift over a “project” that fleshed out my characters in world called “The Records of the Order; Synopsis of the Rift“. This was a series of posts that were similar to the Touhou lore supplements by ZUN such as Perfect Memento in Strict Sense which are “in universe” accounts of characters and races within the series.

TRotO;SotR is written from the perspective of two senior archivists for an organisation called “The Order of the Rift” that attempts to keep a local town near a major space-time rift safe. Be it from things from the rift itself or other magical creatures attracted to the bizarre chaotic energies it puts out. As they’re written from a lopsided point of view, the “factual” analysis of the subjects at hand, such as Marcus Fukuyama, are a little skewed by eyewitness reports, hearsay and guesswork. But that makes it more interesting to be honest.

Each of these posts also had a little art piece associated with them which were meant to look like there were from an old aged book.

I don’t think I ever got that feel and some where almost five years old by this point, so I figured this would be prime opportunity to update those pieces with something that looks less mess.

This is something I’ll be doing on the side of commissions, especially in this period where I’ve wound down due to the holidays and some medical appointments upcoming so these posts will all be super infrequent, but I’ll remember to categorise them correctly when I do post them.

Regarding Patreon: Given how I’ll be doing these posts, they may end up live at the same time on the site and Patreon. However these are side projects as opposed to my main line of work (commissions and other general personal pieces) so my main content process won’t change.

2018 Summary of Art

It’s that time of year, I don’t think I’m going to get much personal work done over the next week what with being away for 4 days at Christmas and then the whole new year thing in general. Traditionally I posted these on Tumblr, but traditionally I didn’t have a website and Tumblr is shooting itself so hard in the foot it’s having it’s legs amputated! So here are my choice pics of the year that I’ve done per month!

A chunk of this years art is commissioned and while most picks this year are personal work, sometimes I felt my commissioned work was the best I did that month. That said, I feel awkward picking one over the other as I don’t want to give the impression I tier my art as I give every commission my all.

It’s been an interesting year artistically. 2018 is the first time since 2013 I’ve taken commissions, I’ve also tried new things in my personal works. Here’s hoping to 2019 being equally interesting.
