This started out as random DO floating, then kinda just built from there, a tank, TF-y things, etc.

Eventually a BG was added because I had the title of this post stuck in my head and honestly, the amount of times I willingly do a background a year can be counted on one hand, two if I’m feeling more motivated than usual.

As a result I tried to do some more things than usual on it with the shading and lighting. Also some transparency on DO for a change. Not sure I like how I did either honestly but you don’t learn things from not trying them!

2010-2019 – A Decade of Art

So here we are, the tensies are gone and now we’re in the 21st twenties. I’ll be honest and just be blunt that yeah, looking at a decade in review I’ve obviously improved but how much genuinely surprises me. It doesn’t feel like my artistic ability was as it was in 2010, whether that’s a commentary on how time moves as an adult or just generally how fast most the decade feels to have moved.

Most my thoughts are already on the image under the cut and I won’t be linking to the images either, mostly because I’m not sure I can actually find where some of these images are even posted. Sure I have all my art saved and backed up, but that means nothing for online sites ๐Ÿ˜›

Rose-Killing Carmilla

Personal piece based on the lyrics of Rose-Killing Carmilla (่–”่–‡ๆฎบใ—ใฎใ‚ซใƒผใƒŸใƒฉ) from Koumajou Densetsu II: Stranger’s Requiem

It’s not anything specific or aiming to push my limits. Just sudden inspiration.

Also, you may notice the gravestone says Mircalla, which is an anagram of Carmilla, one of the many names of the titular vampiress of the book Carmilla. I had originally thought Carmilla was a flower, but no that’s the Camellia. But this is why we do research :3c

I chose a night scene for the sky behind the scarlet sky, because when this theme plays, it’s actually at night to a scarlet backdrop while fighting Yougen Remilia.
